The Pursuit of Magic
January 8th, 2008 by Steve PellegrinoThe obligatory introduction post!
Welcome back to those of you know me from my previous blogs, MagicRants & MagiCentric. If you never read either of those blogs, you’re off to a fresh start with everyone else on this one.
I didn’t intend on starting another magic blog. However within the past few months when I started popping back up on forums and leaving the occasional comment on a few magic blogs I started to receive emails asking where I’ve been and what happened to the MagiCentric blog. So for those of you who were wondering, you can catch-up here:
Where I’ve Been:
Since 1998 I’ve been involved in the web professionally and most of that time was spent with my own web development business. After 7 years of working from home, I was basically burnt out and wasn’t enjoying the business anymore. In July of 2006 I went to work for Network Solutions in their ecommerce department. After a few months I moved over to their online marketing sales department and eventually became a sales manager for the online marketing team.
Towards the end of August 2007 I received an offer for a 6 month contract from Ellusionist. After a couple of weeks of thinking about it I decided to leave the corporate world and jump back into magic full-time.
What I’m Doing Now:
I continue to manage the L&L Publishing site, updating it every couple of months, handling the occasional technical issue and just finishing up a 6 month contract with Ellusionist. Currently I am looking for my next project.
What happened to MagiCentric:
In August of 2006 I found myself in a defamation lawsuit with 2 others. We were each being sued for almost one million dollars. I was able to get out of the case early on, however lost the domain name in the process.
Why another magic blog?
There’s a lot going on in magic and still so many more topics to talk about. This blog reflects my feelings about what’s going on in the magic scene and what we’re all trying to accomplish. We’re all in the pursuit of discovering magic for ourselves and our audiences.
